Ease Expands Its Online Veterinary Behavior Solution, Offering Pet Parents Expert Treatment for Pet Stress, Anxiety and Behavior Problems in the Comfort of Home

With veterinary clinic partners across 34 states, Ease is building the first centralized platform for veterinary behavioral medicine while keeping general practice vets at the center of care

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 26, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Ease, the online home for veterinary behavior specialty care, today makes its expert help for pets in need available to the public, allowing any client anywhere to request a referral to Ease from their trusted vet. By partnering directly with veterinary clinics, Ease allows practices to access behavior care from Ease’s extended team of board-certified veterinary behaviorists (DACVBs) at no cost to them – making treatment for these issues accessible to pet parents while keeping general practice vets at the center of care.

Pet anxiety and behavior problems are among the leading reasons animals are returned, surrendered, or euthanized, despite being solvable in most cases. Over 70% of dogs exhibit at least one anxiety-related behavior, and up to 50% of cats live with chronic stress. Behavior issues are among the most common client concerns in veterinary general practice, often cited multiple times per day, per clinic. These cases present a clear gap in care, and one of the largest opportunities in pet health and wellness today.

Ease is introducing a new category in veterinary medicine: behavioral infrastructure designed to support general practice vets, improve outcomes, and keep more pets in their homes. With a rapidly growing network of referring clinics across 34 states, Ease helps vets retain clients, increase revenue and meet patient care needs, offering integrated behavioral specialty care to the pet families they serve without needing to increase overhead. Ease now offers integrated treatment plans for nine core behavior issues spanning the majority of reported cases for cats and dogs. These include generalized anxiety, global fear, separation anxiety, inter-cat aggression, and leash reactivity, as well as common issues like noise phobia, which affects more than 1 in 3 dogs, and multiple forms of house soiling (inappropriate elimination), which is the most cited reason for behavioral surrender for felines. Ease’s continued growth follows being awarded the top prize at the VMX 2025 Pet Pitch Competition for Innovation in Veterinary Care.

“Behavior is the last great frontier in pet health,” said Brandy Kuentzel, Ease co-founder and CEO. “It’s core to every pet’s quality of life, but until now, there’s been no scalable, trusted way to deliver this kind of care when problems arise. Ease is here to change that.”

The behavior care gap is clear: most veterinary schools offer 0–5 hours of formal behavior training, and only 0.06% of practicing veterinarians in the U.S. are board-certified in behavior. The majority of veterinary clinics – and pets – lack access to this specialized expertise, which means that most pets with behavior issues never receive proper treatment. The good news is that the majority of behavior problems in pets are treatable: 94% of families who receive vet-guided behavioral support keep their pets, and 97% of pets improve after one DACVB visit. Ease costs $197 per pet per case, compared to $600 – $1,000+ for traditional behavioral visits, making expert support more affordable and scalable.

Ease’s innovative model is uniquely suited for online care, allowing pets with behavior issues to remain at home in their natural environment. Designed with the world’s leading veterinary behaviorists, Ease supports veterinary teams by taking the lead on the most time-consuming aspects of solving behavioral problems, including environmental management, behavior modification, and nutrition and supplementation. Unlike traditional telemedicine, Ease operates as a specialty consult platform: Ease’s veterinary behaviorists work directly with the family’s general practice vet to recommend any in-clinic testing and pharmaceutical support, while Ease serves as the primary point of care for behavior, providing protocols and treatment plans via simple, tailored online modules. The referring vet remains the prescribing clinician and primary care provider, allowing for seamless integration into existing clinic workflows.

“Behavior issues can slowly wear down the joy of living with a pet, coming between families and the pets that they love,” said Dr. Lisa Radosta, DACVB, one of the nation’s leading veterinary behaviorists and Ease’s founding clinical advisor. “Too often, pets are given up or even lose their lives over challenges that are treatable when families have access to the right help. Ease is changing that.”

The timing couldn’t be more urgent. In the wake of the COVID-19 pet adoption boom, millions of first-time pet parents are now navigating the realities of life with anxious, under-socialized, or misunderstood animals without clear paths to help. Today’s pet parents, particularly younger generations, view emotional health and well-being in their animal companions the way they view it for themselves: not optional, but essential. With pet longevity as their top concern, today’s pet parents are among the first to prioritize the link between chronic stress and risk of health conditions like suppressed immune function, GI disease, cardiovascular risk in their companions.

“The future of veterinary care has to include behavioral health,” added Kuentzel. “We’re building the behavior brain for veterinary medicine – and the system to keep pets in homes.”

Looking ahead, the company is developing an expanded suite of technology and tools to support veterinary clinic partners and offer pet parents expanded treatment resources, while continuing to bridge access to care as the one-stop destination for behavioral health in veterinary medicine.
