Crypto Industry Unites for Good: Driving Positive Impact for New York City Schools with New York Cares

NEW YORK, Sept. 29, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — New York City, now a global hub for the crypto industry, is seeing its most dynamic companies come together to create lasting impact for its communities. Today, New York Cares, the city’s largest volunteer network, announced the launch of Crypto for Good”, a groundbreaking partnership between leading crypto firms and financial players to support the city’s most underserved schools through the Stand with Students initiative.

Stand with Students, now in its 6th year, provides much-needed resources for New York City’s Title I schools – those with the fewest resources and highest needs. This year’s campaign is chaired by Keith A. Grossman, President of MoonPay, longtime Board Member of New York Cares, and former President of TIME and Global Chief Revenue Officer of Bloomberg Media.

Thanks to the collective commitment of the crypto industry, Stand with Students has not only reached but surpassed its fundraising goal of $400,000, ensuring that tens of thousands of New York City students will receive tutoring, SAT prep and college application guidance. This support arrives at a critical moment, given that the National Education Association estimates 94% of teachers nationwide pay out-of-pocket for supplies, with the burden falling hardest on Title I schools.

The 16 participating firms include: The Solana Foundation, Ripple, Robinhood, FalconX, Anthony Pompliano, Fireblocks, StarkWare, Dapper Labs, BroadLight Capital, Cake Wallet, LionTree, Arrington Capital, KBW, Wave, Exodus, and MoonPay.

This partnership also builds on New York Cares’ long history of embracing innovation within the crypto space. In 2021, the nonprofit began accepting crypto donations and, in 2022, partnered with the NYC Schools Chancellor to raise funds through digital assets.

Sapreet Saluja, Executive Director, New York Cares:

“We are incredibly grateful to see the crypto industry rally behind New York City’s students and teachers. Their generosity ensures that tens of thousands of students receive the support they need to succeed, and teachers won’t have to shoulder this burden alone. This collaboration is a shining example of how innovation and community spirit can come together to create lasting impact.”

Keith A. Grossman, President, MoonPay & Chair of Stand with Students:

“New York City is at a pivotal moment in its history, facing both challenges and opportunities. To see the crypto industry come together with one voice to support our city’s students is inspiring and deeply meaningful. At its core, crypto is about building a better future, and there’s no better way to demonstrate that than by investing in the next generation of New Yorkers.”
