Stuart is academic clinical lecturer in cardiovascular surgery at The University of Manchester, and fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) at Rinicare. He received a MBChB (Honours) in 2007 and a PhD in 2014 from the University of Manchester. He was made a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2020.
His research is focussed on clinical prediction models and observational studies utilising big-data. He has more than 80 publications including 50 peer reviewed original articles, three national reports and numerous book chapters
