Allen Control Systems Launches Advanced Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Test Platform for Industry-Wide Counter-Drone Tracking Development and Validation

AUSTIN, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Allen Control Systems (ACS), a leader in autonomous precision robotics, today announced the release of Treillis, its next-generation Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test platform purpose-built for real-world tracker and fire-control system evaluation. Originally developed to support ACS’s Bullfrog™ autonomous weapon system, Treillis is now available for government and industry partners seeking to accelerate sensor fusion, AI/ML tracking, and closed-loop weapon system development.

The HIL system opens ACS’s precision turret and tracking compute platform via the Treillis SDK as a test vehicle for new and legacy counter-drone tracking systems. The democratization of software-enabled counter-drone hardware will accelerate the next generation of innovators by removing the hardware cost barrier to solution entry through the use of a common hardware platform – reducing development timelines, minimizing risk, and improving mission reliability.

“Our HIL framework allows teams to test AI-based and traditional tracking algorithms, sensor handoff logic, and weapon cueing in a safe, repeatable, and data-rich environment,” said Steve Simoni, co-founder and President, ACS. “By simulating dynamic unmanned system engagements across air, ground, or maritime domains, we’re enabling partners to refine performance and validate control architectures long before field deployment.”

ACS is building the next generation of autonomous weapon systems to meet the demands of modern conflict. Its flagship product, Bullfrog, uses artificial intelligence, computer vision, and proprietary control systems to enable any legacy or modern weapon to achieve precise engagements at any target and significantly increases the accuracy of existing battlefield systems.

The HIL system supports both U.S. and allied defense partners, OEMs, and academic research institutions working in tracking, fire-control, and autonomous system development. ACS’s facility in Austin serves as the central integration and demonstration site where industry users can conduct joint testing, algorithm training, and interface verification using the HIL environment as a shared proving ground for the next generation of intelligent defense systems.
