Rent-A-Container Announces Acquisition of Wayside Trans. Corp., Expanding Northeast Presence

ANN ARBOR, Mich.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Rent-A-Container (“RAC” or the “Company”), a portfolio company of Kinderhook Industries, LLC, today announced the acquisition of Wayside Trans. Corp. (“Wayside”), a leading New England provider of custom shipping containers, offices, trailers, and portable storage solutions.


Founded in 1933 and based in Peabody, Massachusetts, Wayside has been a multi-generational, woman-owned business known for its craftsmanship, customer-first culture, and ability to provide highly customized container solutions across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and New Jersey. With in-house carpenters, welders, electricians, plumbers, and mechanics, the company has built a reputation for its creative and flexible approach to customer needs.
